JSC Mikron is the leader of the Russian semiconductor industry, largest manufacturer and exporter of microelectronics in Russia and CIS. It heads one of the business divisions of the corporate group RTI (part of JSFC Sistema). JSC Mikron performs scientific research, development, production and sales of integrated circuits.
In 2012 process unit working with 90 nm technology was opened at the plant of JSC Mikron. Launch of the new line increased production capacity of the plant up to 36 000 wafers with the diameter 200 mm (8 inch) per year. In 2010 trilateral agreement was signed on technology transfer to Mikron granting access to 90 nm chips design rules.
Strategic partner of JSC Mikron – one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies -STMicroelectronics. In 2006 in cooperation with ST JSC Mikron began a project of production upgrade, within the framework of which the 180 nm EEPROM technology was transferred and mastered. More than 50 companies from 12 countries were equipment and materials suppliers and partners in infrastructure creation, such as M+W Zander, Air Liquid, Hager+Elsasser, Applied Materials, ASML and others.
At present, integrated circuits on 200 nm wafers are manufactured in the clean room, using the 180 nm EEPROM technology and 90 nm technology for RFID transport and smart cards, memory chips, integrated circuits for social and bank cards, biometric passports.
The strategic goal of Mikron is dominating in the domestic market and positioning in local segments of the global market, as a foundry-partner as well.
Mikron has a complete production cycle from IC design up to assembling and personalization, which allows independent production of a whole range of high-tech products for the mass market: intellectual cards – smart cards, transport and various RFID-cards (using the radio frequency identification technology), SIM-cards, bank cards with chip, social cards and other electronic identification documents with high safety mode, new articles for industrial electronics, power management chips.
