Matte World Digital was formed in 1988 by Industrial Light + Magic alumni who set out to develop the most realistic visual effects shots possible while still remaining affordable. Matte World Digital is available for all types of digital projects, including non-effects driven productions that need visual-effects shots. Craig Barron, founder and visual effects supervisor, is an Academy-Award winner for his visual effects work in David Fincher's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
For more than 20 years, Matte World Digital has designed and produced digital visual effects for films, television, commercials, interactive formats, and special projects by using the latest techniques in digital compositing and computer graphics. First known for the critically acclaimed classic effects of Batman Returns and Clear and Present Danger, Matte World Digital has gone on to produce innovative digital effects for films such as James Cameron's Titanic and Martin Scorsese's Hugo.
We offer a full spectrum of visual effects services. As consultants, we work with directors and crews to develop their vision and to find solutions within the production budget. During pre-production, we prepare an itemized cost projection and a detailed breakdown of effects within the script. Then we design, develop and produce the shots. Matte World Digital provides camera equipment and trained crews for plate photography on location, and we offer blue and green screen facilities in our own studios.
Our clients include Disney, Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Amblin Entertainment, Castle Rock Entertainment, Morgan Creek, American Zoetrope and Warner Brothers. Past production work includes commercials for AT&T, Coca Cola and Honda, and visual effects for Michael Jackson's Black or White music video. Matte World Digital continues to collaborate with the most highly acclaimed directors of our time to put their ideas on the screen.
