The selection criteria in the "Best Russian Enterprises - 2012" contest called for significant results in increasing the production effectiveness while fulfilling the projects as well as a growing number of high-tech and innovative products. The selected enterprises should have also registered patents that are actively used in production.
The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs holds annuals contests that are geared to determine dynamic Russian enterprises and support the sustainable development of the Russian business. In 2012 Russia's best enterprises were determined in eight major and several special categories.
The winners of the contest will receive their honors and prizes at the Russian Business Week that will take place in Moscow on March 18-22, 2013.

In 2009 JSC Kirovsky Zavod was included in the list of Russia's system-forming enterprises.
Kirovsky Zavod has an advanced production infrastructure. The main production site in St. Petersburg has good transport accessibility and convenient logistics, direct access to the Gulf of Finland and the Baltic Sea, an internal rail network with a total length of 50 km, which allows the plant to send and receive train shipments from various destinations in Russia and abroad.
